I know this is my third post in 24 hours but we had quite the busy weekend (and I remembered where I put my camera cable) We hosted Thanksgiving @ our house this year for all those who stayed on the East coast for the holiday. We had five couples over, some family and friends both old and new. I think it was a success.I tried to make sure that the food assignments were all dished that people normally had @ their Thanksgiving so that no one would get home sick. Maren & Ryan came up Wednesday and stayed until Sunday so they could watch the BYU/Utah game. McCall & Tannen stayed the night on Thursday, and after a nail bitting game of bowling they headed back to Pittsburgh because the snow appeared for a couple of hours.

I am so lucky to have an awesome ward out here in Erie!! We have a great wives club that try to get together once a month for GNO, so of course November was NEW MOON!! We had a t-shirt decorating night ( I washed it before I took a picture if it and all the bling fell off) and then went to the theatre. My new friend Ashley & I went to the 10:00pm showing on Friday night. We had so much fun!! We got a yummy treat before @ Starbucks so we wouldn't get hungry waiting in line @ the theatre. WE laughed throughout the whole movie because of all the screaming girls, oh my goodness!!

I know you all know I am not lying when I say Smitty studies a lot but I wanted to show you what happens when he tries to study @ home.

A shocking good bye....

In the ward Smitty and I attended in West Jordan, UT I was called to serve in the young women's program. I was so excited when I was called, remembering how much loved my leaders. But as soon as I was put in I knew it was payback for how I was when I was a YW. The calling became really stressful and I hated it for a while, the only way I survived was thru the YW presidency. DaleLene was the 'mom' of the leaders and she helped me calm down quite a bit (I like to be in control) Unfortunately she had a really hard life but you would have never known by how positive and giving she was. We moved out of the ward in March and we really didn't stay in touch with anyone. I was talking to one of my old YW on Facebook and she told me that DaleLene was in the ICU & unresponsive and that it did not look good. We are very sorry for her family's loss.

DaleLene Hardman Peacock 12/22/1955~11/1/2009 DaleLene Hardman Peacock, beloved wife, mother, sister, aunt, niece and friend died November 1st, 2009 from complications of surgery. Born December 22, 1955 to Dale and Thelma Addley Hardman in Salt Lake City, UT. Married Randy Peacock April 11, 1980 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Served faithfully in many callings including President of the Relief Society, Young Women's and Primary organizations. She fell in love with football when her two sons started playing in little league. They got her to do in an instant what her husband could not do in years. Member of the West Jordan High School Football Booster club. Proud replacement in the "Pounce Bunch." Survived by husband Randy, sons Jeremy and Cameron and siblings Kelly (Cindy) Hardman, Twin Falls, Patricia (Bruce) Derrick, South Jordan, Max (Cindy) Hardman, West Jordan. Also Mary Jean and Clark Killian. Related by law, bound by love. She is an Aunt to 37 nieces and nephews and friend to many. She found the good in everyone and fought the good fight. She will be deeply missed yet she will be with us always and forever. Services will be held Mon. Nov. 9th 2009 at 12 noon in the West Jordan East Stake Center, 1899 W. 7600 S., West Jordan. There will be a viewing on Sun. Nov 8th, 2009 at the same location from 6-8 p.m. and prior to services on the 9th from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Interment will take place at Redwood Memorial Estates, 6500 S. Searching for Sea Glass Take 2

On the previous post I put up photos of my scenery but not of my prize. I went back to the lake today because the weather was much more pleasant (65 degrees with a light wind) perfect for a t-shirt and jeans. I think I hit the jack pot of sea glass today, however most the pieces I found where only half done. I took pictures of my findings and threw them back so that they can have the full frosted look. Today I found clear, green and a large piece of brown. Can't wait to show the fam my finds on ichat tomorrow

When my mom and I went to Guam to pick up my grandparents from their mission a couple of years ago my mom got me really interested in sea glass. We combed the beaches for hours looking for it. Sea glass is glass that washes up the beach from the ocean, the edges are smoothed over by the sand and water and the glass becomes frosted. The most common colors are clear, green & brown (the colors of beer bottles) but you can find blue, red, pink, purple, etc.

When we went to the San Juan islands this summer with my family we hit gold! We have a family friend that retired to the islands and have a private beach I found so many pieces that we threw some back to get a better wash. To make the hobby even better they hold the International sea glass festival here in Erie every year. I learned that some real weirdos are into sea glass (not surprised) but I also learned things like the difference between real and fake sea glass, where are the best places to find it (a couple weeks after a hurricane or tropical storm) and and how much people will pay for it ($65 for a red, purple or pink piece the size of a pin head)

It has been really stormy and it will probably snow this weekend so I wanted to try and find some glass before winter. I did find some, only clear though but i got these cool pictures of the lake.
