We is very involved in every aspect. On sunday he told us that today he would find out if he would be selected for a pilot position and guess what?! HE GOT IT. I am so freaking excited for him!! Almost as excited as I was when we got accepted to medical school. We are so proud him and all he has accomplished

Happy Engagement Day!!

Dang!! Look how good we looked!! SO Smitty is not a fan of holidays and I of course love them. When we were first married we decided that we would not celebrate Valentine's day. I love the cherry colors and all the hearts and how happy everyone gets but I hate the long lines and traffic. Since we got engaged on Feb 18th we have made that our holiday. This year we had a quick dinner out (Smitty had to get back to his mistress- the med school) It is always nice to just have Smitty to myself and joke and chat. Love you babe!

Valentine's Day

Learning his princesses and colors
wonderful day of shopping
snow today
Snow on last Wed.

I love Valentine's day. It's not about the lovey- dovey holiday stuff for me, it's about having fun after all the miserable weather. The girls and I planned a shopping trip the the outlet mall about an hour away. We shopped till we dropped!! Most of the girls have kids, or are having kids so we found some awesome deals. But don't feel sorry for me, Cassidy and I found some cute stuff; most of it the exact same item!! TWINNERS!!

That night we had most of our friends over for a fondu party!! I had wanted to have it on Valentine's day but we were invited over to a sister in our ward's house for chinese new years with the missionaries and the guys had a huge exam on Monday morning so we pushed it to Monday night. We had lots of great food and lots of laughter. I think it was a great break for everyone. The wives didn't have to make dinner and the guys couldn't study for a couple of hours ( they did start getting anxious to get back to the books as the evening went on) I think it was just a good break from all our routines in dreary Erie.

Why do you have nurses?

A couple of months after we were in Erie I was babysitting for a sister in my ward and her kids called me grandparents- is this story ringing a bell? Well I watched those kids again today. I have another great story for you.
I was watching a 5 month old, 3 year old and 4 or 5 year old. When I first got there the baby was sleeping so I just hung out with the older two kids. After only 5 minutes they start with the questions- where are your kids? why don't you have kids? Are you married? then why don't you have kids? After the baby woke up, their son(3 yr old) told me she needs to be nursed.I told him it wasn't time yet and he started to get really concerned about how I would feed his sister without his mom there. (The baby is still breast feeding so she pumped before she left) After a couple of minutes he looked at my chest and said 'you can do it because you have nurses, see, look you have bumps in your shirt.' I was kind of confused at first, but i got it the second time he told me.
His mom came home and I told her what he called my boobs. While I was telling her he walked in during the last of the story, walked up to us with a concerned look, poked me in the boob and said 'see mom, she has nurses right there.' His mom swatted his hand away and told him not to poke me and he said ' I didn't do that the first two times.' and he walked away. I thought I was laughing hard, but you should have seen Smitty almost pee his pants when I told him!!

Happy Heart Day!!

Andrea's baby gift
cover all this with packaging tape
heart day package to my fam

So I probably need to explain the first three photos. In high school and up until I got married I worked at a gift wrap and packaging store. I came up with a really fun way to send a package thru the mail so that you wouldn't spend extra money on wrapping the gift, and packaging it. Most people didn't get it, so these are my examples. The blue/ green box is a baby gift for my BFF Andrea. I just put the gift in some tissue paper and then wrapped the shipping box to look like a present. I tucked the card under the bow. THE MOST IMPORTANT PART is to wrap the present in cellophane basket wrap and then seal all the opening on the cello with packing tape. (that's what the second picture is suppose to show) the red box is what I sent my family. Finally you take it to the post office and as long as the label fits on the package you are good to go.
The rest of the photos are my decorations for Valentine's Day. We are going to have a fondu party with our med school friends on the 15th (not the 14th because the guys have a test in monday morning) I am going to practice my fondu skills on the missionaries tonight- how lucky are they!

Photos I forgot to post

When my in-laws were here we spent sunday afternoon in Kirtland, OH. This is my second favorite church history site that I have been to. (Palmyra is my 1st) I have now been here three times and I still learn more amazing things every time I go. These pictures are from the church history site and in the front of the temple.

These are some of the SMALLER icicles outside our house. I still have t get some shots of the really impressive ones.

crafting time

first off, this is my mew ottoman you like?

So I have learned that when it snows and the temperature is a balmy -4 degrees outside people around here get creative inside. All of the wives have been doing a lot of crafting. This is my new project. I ripped the idea off from my friend, Ashley. First I was going to build a large frame but then I ran into these frames on clearance at TJmaxx. I think they where mirrors that broke. I gave them a sanding and spray painted them with a white gloss. (Note to self: do not try and spray paint when it is so cold. Nothing sticks) I picked up the fabric at Ben Franklin crafts when I was in Seattle for christmas. I think it is Amy Butler. I had to go to three different hardware stores to find my galvanized aluminum because of cost. Lowes $ 30/ sheet, Home Depot $8/ sheet. than it was assembly time! I think they are awesome. Smitty and the gato could care less.
