Thanksgiving= yoga?

Happy sweet 16 to my sis! Sorry the shout out is a little late
So we just got back from very quick trip to Seattle for Thanksgiving and we had fun! This was Smitty's first Turkey day with my family and I was very excited for him to see how we spend thanksgiving. We drove to Twin Falls, ID on Tuesday night so that we could drive up to Seattle with my grandparents. We all left Wednesday morning and after hitting a thick wall of fog in the Blue Mtns we made it. First off Hannah tackles Smitty and everyone else hugs. While we went to rent WALL-E, Gavyn our surrogate brother showed up to hang out with Smitty & Dane. We spent the whole turkey day eating a hanging out with family. We had about 17 people show up. On Friday after our personal yoga session- yes, Smitty is doing yoga but he wants you all to know he is not happy about it! We then did my family's favorite family activity- shopping. We were on a quest for new shoes for my grandpa. After 6 hours of story telling, 3 salesmen, three stores and my grandpa trying to play 'outsmart the salesman' we got them, we also made a trip to Molbaks, a nursery close to are house that has a poinsettia festival every year. We finished the day with salmon, crab legs and calamari at Ivar's fish house. That's how we roll in Washington state!

Number 2!

After a little confusion we have another interview! Smitty will head to Henderson, NV January 13th for interview #2. We are excited about this one because our friend's the Nelson's are applying to UNLV so we will still have friends close by. Way to go babe!

On a sadder note....

First off- this is ashlee- I always seem to post as SMitty for some reason.
We recieved our first rejection letter yesterday from Pacific Northwest University in Yakima, Wa (2.5 hours from my fam) I talked to my dad yesterday so he knows the news, so this is for the rest of my family because they don't seem to pass along info! I am a little bummed becasue my family was pretty excited at the possibility of us being somewhat closer to them. Sorry babe, we tried.

First Interview !!

Smitty got his interview invite today! LECOM is located in Lake Erie, PA. He will not actually be going to LECOM until January but we are so, so, so excited!! Love you babe

Keratitis?!

Looks fun huh? Nope. It took me two months to go to the doctor but now I have the answer. The Doc says we caught it just in time- if i had waited any longer it could have spread to my cornea and caused blindness. So for now I have to put steroids in my eye and wait 2 weeks for a vision check; but as of right now my vision is weak and did I mention the ulcer too?! yup I also waited just long enough to get an ulcer in my eye. Didn't know you could get one there!

We are so impressed about the amount of food and people we were able to fit in our house for Smitty's B-day. We had all of Smitty's favorite food- wings, haystacks, cheese & chocolate fondue and Italian sodas. I was going to make crepes but we did that for breakfast the next morning. Smitty spent his actual B-day watching football, which I didn't complain about because he has had to work every Saturday since June. On Saturday night we went to Preston and Breck's Halloween party which as become a annual tradition. This year I wanted to go as Alladin and Jasamine but because we thought the party was next week and not on Saturday we ended up trying for Robin Hood and Maid Marion.
I just wanted to wish my hot husband a happy birthday. We makes me laugh everyday and I love to be with him. Thanks for all your hard work and all the effort you put into making me happy everyday.

I have not posted anything for a while because our house has been turned upside down for the last couple of weeks and somewhere in the upside down-ness my camera cord was MIA. FOUND IT!
In September, we purchased my new car, a 2003 VW Passat. We love it! It is a V6 so no more hoping we can get up to freeway speed. Smitty took the MCAT again and got an awesome score.
We also spent a couple of Tuesdays in September putting in our new flooring. My father-in-law, Dave and my brother-in-law, Jeron came down and helped teach Smitty the tricks of the trade. I FINALLY was able to get everything put away today and it looks wonderful.
Somehow Smitty got lucky and has every Friday off in Sept & Oct so we had the chance to go pick pumpkins with the Jeppsons and Nelsons. We found blue and green pumpkins ( yes mom, blue!)
Smitty had the week off from school so he decided to surprise me so he and Dave (thanks again Dave) finished the bathroom. It had this green & burgundy striped wallpaper with sunflowers we decided had to go, and two years later it finally is.
